A major train accident was averted in Jharkhand’s Sahibganj district. Four coaches without engine ran on the railway track of Barhadwa railway station. The rakes of the goods train also started following them. For the last 10-15 days, two wagons of the goods train were standing on the rack loading railway track. Four coaches of a train were standing on the same track for maintenance. The goods train suddenly started at around 5 pm on Sunday evening. Seeing this, the villagers living next to the railway track were shocked and a crowd gathered and after a lot of effort they were able to stop the train from moving forward.
Coaches and goods trains stopped before entering the platform
The second coach of the goods train hit four coaches of the train standing on the railway track, due to which the coaches started running on the railway track. Without engine, the bogie of the train crossed the Barhadwa-Rajmahal road and reached the main platform of Barhadwa station after walking about 200 meters. However, the coaches and bogies of the goods train stopped before entering the platform. Meanwhile, a crowd of people gathered there. A major accident was averted when coaches and wagons started running on the tracks without engines.

Due to the slope, the coach of the train ran on its own on the track without engine
Here, the residents of Barhadwa have demanded the DRM of Malda Division to investigate the matter and take action. When asked in this matter, Barhadwa Station Manager Niranjan Kumar Bhagat said that due to the slope, the bogie of the train ran on its own on the track without the engine. No untoward incident took place.
