Prayagraj, 27 April (HS). The final match of Amalendu Ghosh Memorial State Level Football Competition will be played between Sports College Saifai and Sports Hostel Varanasi.
In the last league match of the competition, Allahabad Sporting Football Academy defeated Sports Hostel Bareilly 3-1. In this match of Group ‘B’, after the goal average of Allahabad Sporting Football Academy and Saifai was equal, a toss was held between the two teams in which Saifai won.
In the first half of the competition org.zed at the high school ground under the joint auspices of Allahabad Sporting Club and District Football Association, Surendra Kumar of the academy scored a goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. After some time, Sanjeet of Bareilly scored a goal and leveled the match at 1-1. In the second half, Pawan Sharma scored a goal to put Academy ahead 2-1. After this, Vikalp Jha increased the Academy’s lead to 3-1 by scoring a goal, which remained till the end of the match.
Before the match, Allahabad University cricket coach Devesh Mishra introduced himself to the players. The referees of the match were Ajay Kumar Yadav, Kabir Khan, Shashi Mohan Mishra, Jitendra Kumar.
