Police has claimed to have busted those supplying drugs and mobile phones in Faridkot’s Central Modern Jail. After investigation, the District Police has arrested the head warden of the jail, Rajdeep Singh, in the case of supplying drugs and mobile phones in the Central Modern Jail of Faridkot. Apart from this, Sunita R., wife of a jailed prisoner associated with this drug racket, has also been arrested.
A prisoner lodged in Goindwal jail has also been brought to Faridkot on production warrant. The district police has recently disclosed the matter and named 14 jail inmates and lock-ups and the entire matter is being investigated.
About 10 days ago, after the video of two prisoners from the jail went viral and 100 grams of heroin was recovered from one prisoner, the district police conducted a high-level investigation into the entire matter and this has come to light. A racket of supplying drugs and mobile phones is being run by prisoners and convicts in Faridkot Jail.
SSP Harjeet Singh said that important revelations have been made in the interrogation after 100 grams of heroin was recovered from prisoner Anup Arora. On the basis of this, apart from jail head warden Rajdeep Singh, Sunita R., wife of Anoop’s fellow prisoner Shyam Lal, has been arrested. Both of them helped in delivering drugs inside the jail and also did online payment transactions.
Apart from this, Amandeep Singh, lodged in Goindwal jail in the said case, who is in contact with Anoop Arora, has also been brought to Faridkot on production warrant. Apart from this, two other prisoners are also being interrogated on production warrant.
