Yamunanagar, 24 February (HS). Programs were org.zed at many places in Jagadhri assembly constituency on Saturday to commemorate the 647th birth anniversary of Saint Shirom. Guru Ravidas. Haryana’s School Education Minister Kanwar Pal arrived as the chief guest at the program in village Teli Majra, Chagnauli, Mahmoodpur, Garhi Mundo ki Taparia, Matka Chowk and Ashok Vihar of the city and received blessings at the Guru Ravidas temple.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal, while congratulating and wishing Guru Ravidas Jayanti to the org.zers of all the programs and the people of the country and the state, said that the land of India has been the land of saints and great men. Guru Ravidas also gave the message of unity to the society. He said that it is not justified to limit the saints within the boundaries of any religion or caste because saints are common to everyone and the saints have always inspired the society and the country to follow the right path. The teachings of Guru Ravidas are relevant today, his ideals and thoughts are beneficial for the welfare of the entire human society. Guru Ravidas has described human religion as the greatest religion. We all should not discriminate against casteists and should consider the upliftment of the weaker section as our religion. Hundreds of years ago, Guru Ravidas had put forward the idea of giving respect to the weak, Dalits and women to the society through his words. His words will be remembered for centuries. On this occasion, officials of various org.zations of BJP, org.zers of all programs and a large number of devotees were present.
