Kanpur, 27 April (Hindustan Reporter). In Kushmanda Nagar of Ghatampur police station area, a woman fell into a well in the Kushmanda temple complex on Friday night, due to which she died. Police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot after receiving the information, recovered the body of the woman and took legal action.
Deputy Commissioner of Police South Ravindra Kumar said that Guddi, 52, wife of Vinod Kumar Sharma, resident of Kushmanda Nagar, Ghatampur, was mentally ill since 2010. On Friday night at around 11 pm, Kushmanda suddenly fell into a dry deep well in the temple complex. On receiving information, fire brigade personnel reached the spot with a fire engine and somehow pulled him out. After which it was revealed that he had died. After interrogation, the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. From the investigation, prima facie it appears that the woman committed suicide by jumping into the well due to mental distress. However, the post mortem report is awaited to know the clear cause of death. The investigation is still ongoing for further legal action.
