Amitabh Bachchan: The great festival of democracy i.e. elections is going on. Voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections took place on 7 May. In the third phase of elections, Assam recorded the highest voter turnout of 81.61 percent. While voting in Assam, an incident of Amitabh Bachchan comes to my mind, when Big B went away after joining politics and never came into politics after that.
Amitabh entered the field for his friend
81 year old Amitabh is called the megastar of the century. Even today he works with the same energy as a young player. In his more than five decade long career, Amitabh Bachchan has won the hearts of his fans but there was a time when people’s love for Big B started decreasing and this was the time when Amitabh became active in politics instead of films. . The Bachchan family has a very old and good relationship with the Gandhi family. Rajiv Gandhi was his family friend and he entered the field with the support of his friend.
Left politics because of Bofors
During the 8th Lok Sabha elections, Amitabh Bachchan’s party got 68 percent voting and won the elections. Although Amitabh’s name cropped up in the Bofors scam, he retired from politics in July 1987. However, this was not the only reason for Amitabh to leave politics. A small incident happened in Assam, which forced Amitabh Bachchan to think and leave politics. Amitabh himself has mentioned this in his blog.
The plane had to land at the wrong place in Assam
Amitabh said that while campaigning for Congress in Assam, a wrong decision led to his helicopter landing at the wrong place. This was the work of the opposition. There was a reaction and the pilot ejected immediately. Meanwhile, a student broke through the security corridor and came to Big B and gave a piece of paper on which something was written.

It was written on the paper given by the student, ‘Mr Bachchan, I am a big fan of yours, but I am with the opposition. Please leave this state. You are making my life difficult, I am stuck between two desires, this emotional appeal of the student forced Amitabh Bachchan to think. This was the reason why he left politics.
This decision was taken emotionally
Regarding leaving politics, Amitabh said, I am not a politician and my decision to enter politics was emotional. Rajiv Gandhi and our family have been friends. That’s why I joined politics for a friend. I was a newbie and didn’t deserve it. That’s why I left politics in just 3 years.
