Lucknow, 06 May (HS). The Congress Party has entrusted the responsibility to two former Chief Ministers to win Amethi and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seats. The Congress party has made former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot the observer of Amethi and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been made the observer of Rae Bareli Lok Sabha.
Rae Bareli and Amethi have been the traditional seats of the Gandhi family. Therefore, Congress wants to ensure victory in these two Lok Sabha elections at any cost. Therefore, responsibility has been given to big leaders of the party. KL Sharma, close to the Gandhi family, is the Congress candidate from Amethi, who is contesting against Union Minister Smriti Ir.. Smriti Ir. has defeated Rahul Gandhi in the last elections from here, while Congress has fielded Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli. BJP has fielded state government minister Dinesh Pratap Singh as its candidate against Rahul Gandhi. Dinesh Pratap Singh had contested elections from Rae Bareli in 2019 on BJP ticket.
Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey has said that under the guidance of Bhupesh Baghel and Ashok Gehlot, the Congress party will achieve a record-breaking victory on both the seats.
