TrueCaller has launched call recording and artificial intelligence powered transcription features in India. This feature has been released for both Android and iOS users. This feature was already released in the US in June 2023. But it has just been launched for other countries including India. With the help of this feature, both Android and iOS users will be able to record incoming and outgoing calls, and will also be able to create transcripts with the help of AI. This feature has been launched as a premium feature, so only users using the premium version of Truecaller will be able to use it. Let us learn how this feature can be used.
Calls can be recorded on Truecaller
Truecaller says the feature allows users to record calls directly within the app. Now users do not need to depend on any third party app for call recording. Apart from this, the company has also launched AI-powered transcription feature, which will provide transcription of recorded calls immediately after the call ends.
Let us tell you that earlier the facility of call recording was available on the app. But Google banned apps that use APIs specifically designed for accessibility features to record calls. After this True Caller has stopped its facility.
Do this to record calls on Android.
To record calls on Truecaller, users first need to set Truecaller as the default dialer to enable call recording directly from the call screen in the app.
- For this, first go to the settings of the Android smartphone. Later go to Apps and now click on Default Applications.
- – Now select the phone and then click on TrueCaller.
- Now whenever you make or receive a call, you just have to click on the Rec button and the recording will start.
- A notification of this recording and transcription will appear after the call is disconnected.
- Do this to record calls on iPhone.
- To use the call recording feature in True Caller on iPhone, you do not need to go into the phone’s Settings.
- All you have to do is receive the call on the phone.
- Once the call is connected, open TrueCaller on iPhone.
- Then go to the search page and click on Record a Call.
- Now you will see the option of Call the Recording Line below on your screen, click on it.
- Afterwards go back to the call screen and click on the merge option.
- Now the call will start recording and a push notification will come once your call is recorded.
Note that this will be a special recording line provided by TrueCaller, as Apple does not allow call recording. The company can also record the calls on its system to merge the calls.
