The disappointing performance of the Indian men’s hockey team continued in the crucial tour of Australia as India lost the fourth match of the five-match hockey series 1-3. Australia is leading 4-0 in the series. The result of the match was not in India’s favor but the team’s performance has improved a lot. Against India, the host team proved to be strong in every aspect of the game. The match started late by 40 minutes due to rain and lightning. All four goals in the match were scored on penalty corners. India took a 1-0 lead through captain Harmanpreet Singh’s goal in the 12th minute, but Jeremy Howard scored in the 19th and 47th minutes to put Australia ahead 2-1. Jack Leach scored in the 54th minute to ensure Australia’s fourth consecutive victory. The fifth and last match between the two teams will be played on Saturday. India lost the first match 1-5, second and third by 2-4 and 1-2 respectively.
