Stock Market Today: The stock market is again trading with recession today. Till the time of writing the news, Sensex has fallen by 579.43 points, while Nifty 50 has broken the support level of 22150 and made a bottom of 22126.65. At 11 am, Sensex is at 22146.95 (down 155.55 points) and Sensex is at 72983.59 (down 482.05 points).

Amidst the bearish trend in the stock market, till 11 am, investors have suffered a loss of Rs 2.87 lakh crore. The market cap on BSE has fallen to 397.82. Which was Rs 400.69 lakh crore yesterday. Barring eight stocks, all 22 stocks in the Sensex pack declined. 197 shares hit lower circuit and 26 shares reached year’s low. 133 shares are trading at year’s highest level and 180 shares are trading with upper circuit.

Due to increasing uncertainty in the market regarding the Lok Sabha election results, investors are booking profits as a precautionary measure. Moreover, since most regional indices outperformed in April, investors are now planning to book profits and reinvest in May.

India VIX stopped rising

The India VIX index closed marginally lower yesterday, raising the possibility of less volatility in the stock market. India VIX was trading 3.29 per cent higher at 17.64 by 11 am after opening with a decline today. However, Sensex and Nifty may see an improvement in the near future as experts are saying that the brakes on its expected rise have been put in place.
