Indian stock markets will remain closed on 1st May i.e. Wednesday (stock market holiday). There will be no trading in the stock market on May 1. There will be no trading on Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday. On this day, investors or traders will neither be able to buy nor sell stocks.

Overall bullishness was seen during the trading session of April 29 based on the fourth quarter results. However, banking stocks completely dominated today. Due to this, Bank Nifty reached its new lifetime high. The index had reached above the level of 49,400.

The week had a strong start and the market closed near the day’s high. Nifty Bank touched a record level of 49,473, Nifty closed at 22,643, up 223 points. Sensex closed at 74,671, up 941 points. Nifty bank closed 1223 points higher at 49,424 and rupee weakened 13 paise at 83.47/$.
