The beginning of the new financial year 2024-25 has been very good for the stock market. Sensex and Nifty reached record highs in April. With this, the number of investors registered on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has increased by 34.90 lakh in this one month. Talking about Gujarat, 2.35 lakh new investors have increased in the state in the month of April and the total number of investors has increased to more than 1.60 crore.
According to BSE registered investors data, Gujarat has seen an increase of 8,45,680 investors in the last three months, while the number of investors has increased by 32.28 lakh in the last one year. Gujarat ranks third in the country in terms of number of investors. Maharashtra ranks first with 3.21 crore investors, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 1.83 crore investors. Gujarat ranks fourth in India in terms of increase in the number of investors in the month of April. Uttar Pradesh is first with 5.07 lakh, Maharashtra is second with an increase of 4.98 lakh and West Bengal is third with 2.44 lakh new investors.
According to BSE data, the number of investors in Gujarat has increased by 25.11% compared to April 2023. Similarly, the number of investors in the state increased by 5.55% on a quarterly basis and 1.49% on a monthly basis.
