Olympic and world champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will participate in the National Federation Cup to be held in Bhubaneswar from May 12 to 15. He is participating in a domestic event for the first time in three years. The 26-year-old Neeraj is likely to return to India on May 10 for the first leg of the Diamond League series in Doha. The Indian Athletic Federation said that Neeraj and Kishore will participate in the event starting from January 12. Chopra’s coach Klaus Bartonitz has also confirmed this. Kishore is also scheduled to participate in the Doha Diamond League. Chopra last participated in the domestic event on March 17, 2021 and won the gold medal with a throw of 87.80 meters. Chopra won a historic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and then became the Diamond League champion in 2022 and world champion in 2023. Chopra’s individual performance of 89.94 meters is also a national record.
