Jaipur, 8 May (HS). With a view to strengthening other medical services including maternal and child health, a special inspection and awareness campaign will be conducted across the state on Thursday. Under this campaign, which is being conducted under the direction of Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department, health services being provided in medical institutions regarding maternal and child health, preparations related to management of seasonal diseases, heatstroke and heat-borne diseases. Intensive inspection will be done. From Additional Chief Secretary to Block level officers will inspect the medical institutions together.

Additional Chief Secretary said that on Thursday, Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign Day and Maternal Child Health Nutrition Day are together. On this occasion, intensive inspection of maternal and child health and family welfare services will be done by the Medical and Health Department. Besides, the general public will also be made aware about maternal health and child health.

Singh said that teams have been formed at the state level to conduct special inspection of 27 aspirational blocks from the point of view of maternal and child health services. These teams going from the headquarters will inspect the Akankshi block as well as one other block in the concerned district and submit their report on the next working day. These teams are from Banswara, Baran, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dausa, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Gangapur City, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhalawar, Jodhpur Rural, Karauli, Kotputli-Behror, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Will inspect 27 aspirational blocks and one other block of Rajsamand, Shahpura, Sirohi, Tonk and Udaipur.

Director RCH Dr. Sunit Singh Ranawat said that during the inspection, the condition of the building of the medical institute, cleanliness, maternity planning day, pre-natal health check-up of pregnant women, child vaccination, facilities available in the medical institute and maternal and child health were observed. The achievements of the medical institution etc. will be seen. Based on this, an action plan will be prepared to further improve the facilities as per the report prepared. During the inspection, the preparedness of medical institutions to deal with seasonal diseases and heat wave and heat stroke will also be observed.
