Kathmandu, 29 April (HS). The scorching heat in the Terai region of Nepal in the last week of April is going to increase the problems of the people in the coming days. Due to rising temperatures, schools have had to be closed at many places. People’s daily work has also been affected.

In the last week of April, where the temperature in the southern part of Nepal was usually 32-35 degrees Celsius, this time the temperature at many places has crossed 40 degrees. Not only this, the temperature of Kathmandu has also increased. Normally the temperature in Kathmandu in April used to be 25-28 degrees but at this time the temperature in Kathmandu has also reached 33 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, the heat is showing its fierce form. The temperature is continuously increasing in the Terai. For the last one and a half week, both maximum and minimum temperatures have been continuously increasing. Hot wind and heat wave is blowing in the Terai. Due to this, life is being affected.

On Sunday, maximum temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or more were recorded in five areas of the Terai. The highest temperature was 42.48 degrees Celsius in Bhairahawa. Even on Saturday it was only 42.24 degrees. Similarly, on Sunday, 40 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Dharan, 40.2 in Viratnagar, 40.3 in Simra and 41.1 degree Celsius in Janakpur. Although the temperature of Dhangadhi and Nepalganj has reached 40 degrees, it is extremely hot due to heat wave. As a result, the local administration has ordered the closure of schools.

According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, there is going to be severe heat wave due to hot winds in most of the Terai districts for at least this week. The department has advised people to avoid heat wave.

Here, the temperature in Kathmandu is also increasing day by day. Normally, the temperature in Kathmandu does not exceed 30 degrees even at the peak of summer, but this time in April itself the temperature has crossed 33 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Kathmandu on Monday is 33.3. The temperature here on Sunday was 32.7 degrees Celsius.
