Baramulla, 23 September (HS). Security forces have arrested two terrorists associated with TRF sponsored by banned terrorist org.zation Lashkar-e-Taiba in Baramulla district. Incriminating materials, weapons and ammunition have been recovered from their possession.

Police informed on Saturday that a person named Yasin Ahmed Shah, a resident of Jambazpora Baramulla, was missing from his home and had joined the TRF sponsored by banned terrorist org.zation Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Accordingly, a case was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and investigation was initiated, police said. He said that based on human and technical intelligence, a joint team of Baramulla Police, Army and CAPF caught the said terrorist during MVCP checking at Tappar Pattan. Incriminating material, arms and ammunition including one pistol, one pistol magazine and eight live rounds were recovered from his possession. He said that during interrogation, he revealed the name of his second associate, Parvez Ahmed Shah, son of Ali Mohammed, resident of Takiya Wagura. Accordingly, joint parties of Baramulla Police, Army and CAPF raided his residence and later arrested him also. Upon his disclosure, two hand grenades were also recovered.

Police said that during further interrogation of terrorist Mohammad Yasin Shah and on his disclosure, one pistol, one pistol magazine and eight live cartridges were also recovered from his house in Jambajpora.

Police said the investigation so far has revealed that the two terrorists were acting on the instructions of Pakistan-based handlers and were planning to recruit more terrorists and carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla and surrounding areas. He said the investigation is in the initial stage and more arrests and seizures are expected.
