NOIDA: To “maintain peace and harmony” during the upcoming festivals and important public meetings here, the district police on Tuesday said it has invoked CrPC section 144, which prohibits unlawful assembly, in entire Noida and Greater Noida from September 6 to 15. Done. Religious activities like worship, namaz, procession or any other religious program will not be allowed in public places or on roads. In case of any unavoidable situation permission will have to be taken from the Commissioner of Police, Additional Commissioner of Police or Deputy Commissioner of Police of the area, a police statement said.

Police said the order has been passed in view of upcoming festivals like Janmashtami on September 6-7 and Chehallum on September 7 and Dronacharya Mela in Greater Noida on September 12. Apart from these, some competitive exams and major meetings of farmers in the district have also been scheduled before September 15.

“In view of the above, the possibility of breach of peace by anti-social elements cannot be ruled out. Apart from this, various examinations, programs are also org.zed by the government, various commissions, councils, etc. from time to time, in respect of which information is given some time before the scheduled date and appropriate measures are also taken for its operation. They are safe,” the police said in a statement.

“At present, peace may be disturbed due to protests by various (political) party workers, Indian farmer org.zations and various protesters,” the statement said. Therefore, in order to “maintain peace and harmony” in Gautam Buddh Nagar, it is “necessary” to prevent any mischievous elements from carrying out activities that are likely to create a hostile environment.”

Police said prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC ban unlawful assembly of five or more people and unauthorized public events including religious and political processions. In view of the “seriousness and urgency” of the situation and paucity of time, “it is not possible to provide an opportunity of being heard to any other party”, therefore this order is being passed, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Hridesh Katheria said in the order under section 144 of CrPC.

According to the order, no person shall be allowed to take out any kind of procession or form a group of five or more persons without the prior permission of the Commissioner of Police, Additional Commissioner of Police or Deputy Commissioners of Police. Five or more persons shall not join any group in a public place.

“This rule may be relaxed as per the requirement in programs permitted by the government,” the order said. Shooting with drone cameras will be completely prohibited within a radius of one kilometer above and around government offices. It has been said in the order that without the permission of the Commissioner of Police and Additional Commissioner of Police, shooting or photography with any type of drone camera will not be allowed at other places also.

Police said loudspeakers at religious places, public events and processions would be used only within the permitted sound level and time slot from 10 pm to 6 am, as permitted by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. According to the order, “Loudspeakers installed at religious places like temple, mosque, church or gurudwara shall be confined to the premises of the religious place.”
