India’s Olympic medalist PV Sindhu lost to sixth seed Han Yu of China after a tough battle in the pre-quarterfinals of the Badminton Asian Championships. The Hyderabadi player, who has been practicing to regain form and rhythm before the Paris Olympics, won the match 19-21, 21-13, 17-21 in one hour and nine minutes. Before this match, the Indian player’s record against Han Yu was 5-0. Among other Indian players, women’s doubles pair of T.sha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa lost 17-21, 12-21 to third-seeded Japanese pair of Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida in the pre-quarterfinals. Most of the Indian players have lost in this competition.
