NSE to launch special live trading session: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is going to hold another special live trading session on Saturday. NSE will conduct a special live trading session on May 18.

NSE said the members have decided to conduct special live trading with intra-day switchover from the primary site to the disaster recovery site on Saturday, May 18, 2024. An intra-day transition from the primary site to the disaster recovery site will be made during the trading session.

Trading session in two segments

This special trading session will be conducted in two segments. In which the first phase of 45 minutes session will start from 9.15 am and the second session will start from 11.45 am and end at 12.40 pm.

The maximum price limit i.e. upper circuit for all derivative products in this special trading session will be five percent. Whereas for securities for which the price limit of two percent or less (lower circuit) is currently applicable, that limit will continue to be applicable.

This year the market remained open thrice on Saturdays

Earlier, a special trading session was held by BSE and NSE on Saturday, March 2 as part of the disaster recovery session. Stock markets are usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Earlier on January 22 also, the stock market was closed due to Ram Mandir Pratishtha Mahotsav, whereas the market was open on last Saturday.

As per SEBI guidelines, special live trading sessions are conducted. Since Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai will be held on May 20, the stock markets will remain closed on that day. As a part of the compensation, there will be this special live trading session.
