The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering increasing the remuneration of domestic players. Ajit Agarkar’s selection committee has been tasked with giving suggestions on how to implement the idea. Although the increased match fees are unlikely to be announced immediately, the national selection committee has discussed the proposal. The aim is to ensure that domestic players who do not participate in the IPL are not disadvantaged.

Many plans are under consideration

According to a report, many plans are under consideration. All concerned of BCCI should at least double the fees of cricketers playing at domestic level. One side also says that if a domestic player has played 10 Ranji Trophy titles, he should get Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore annually. BCCI currently pays Rs 60,000 per day to players who have played more than 40 Ranji matches, Rs 50,000 to those who have played 21 to 40 matches and Rs 40,000 to those who have played 20 matches. Also, reserve players will be given Rs. 30,000 (more than 40 matches), Rs. 25,000 (21 to 40 matches) and Rs. ₹20,000 (20 matches) is paid.

Salaries of domestic players will be increased

Players will also earn from other BCCI events. Which includes white ball tournaments like Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali. There is every possibility that the players’ remuneration will be increased from the next season. BCCI is planning how to increase the earnings of domestic players. The objective of this scheme is to encourage domestic players to participate in Ranji Trophy. A section of players had avoided playing red-ball cricket last season to protect themselves from the risk of injury so that they could remain fit for the IPL. Earlier, the board had also increased the fees for test matches.
