Jaipur, March 5 (HS). The special court for NIA cases has given additional time of 90 days to the National Investigation Agency to present the charge sheet in the city’s famous Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi murder case. The court gave this order while accepting the application presented by NIA. The court said that the investigating officer has expressed suspicion of involvement of other people in the conspiracy of the murder and investigation is being done on it. Apart from this, scientific evidence also has to be collected and researched. In such a situation, considering the nature of the crime, it would be justified to give additional time of 90 days to NIA as per the legal provisions.
NIA had filed an application in the court and requested the court to give more time to present the challan, citing pending investigation in this case. It is noteworthy that Gogamedi and Naveen Shekhawat were murdered on 5 December 2023 in Shyam Nagar police station area. In this case, the police had arrested the accused shooters Nitin Fauji, Rohit Rathod, Udham Singh, Bhav., Rahul, Ramveer and Pooja Saini. While other accused including Rohit Godara, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Meghwal are absconding. Initially the police was investigating the case, but later on December 11, on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the NIA registered an FIR.
