MS Dhoni is not the captain of CSK this time in IPL 2024. This season, Dhoni is playing under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. After making Chennai Super Kings the champion for the 5th time last season, the fans thought that this was Dhoni’s last IPL season but Dhoni decided to play one more season for the fans. Last season, Dhoni suffered a knee injury after which Dhoni had to undergo surgery. However, even this season Dhoni has been seen wearing a knee brace several times. Now new information has come to light about Dhoni.

Dhoni is playing despite injury

In IPL 2024, CSK team seems to be in trouble due to injuries to players. Dwayne Conway is already out of the season due to injury, while Deepak Chahar’s injury has also increased the team’s tension. Due to which MS Dhoni is forgetting his injury and playing for CSK. According to reports, doctors have forbidden MS Dhoni from playing but Dhoni is adamant on playing.

Recently, Dhoni came to bat at number 9 against Punjab Kings, during which Dhoni was out on the very first ball. After which many former cricketers and fans raised questions on Dhoni. According to reports, Dhoni cannot take a break right now even if he wants to because many star players of the team are out. Which includes Mathisha Pathirana of Sri Lanka and Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh.

How important is it for Dhoni to stay in CSK?

MS Dhoni may be playing under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad in IPL 2024, but his presence makes the team much stronger. Dhoni is a very experienced player and all the players of the team can learn a lot from him. Even today, Dhoni is seen setting the fielding during the match. Ruturaj Gaikwad is also learning a lot about captaincy from Dhoni. This season Dhoni is playing the role of a good finisher for CSK, even though Dhoni comes to bat for only 1 or 2 overs, but in no time Dhoni makes his mark by scoring important runs for the team.
