Indian stock markets have closed flat after seeing sharp fluctuations throughout the day. However, in the last two sessions, midcap and smallcap stocks have seen a rise due to fears of a fall. Buying was also seen in energy and auto shares in today’s session. However, the BSE Sensex fell 46 points to close at 73,466, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed flat.

The market capitalization of BSE listed stocks increased to Rs.100 crore in today’s trade. More than Rs 400 lakh crore. Rs 400.85 lakh crore has been closed. Out of 3926 shares traded in the market, 2133 shares closed with gains and 1661 shares closed with decline.

In today’s trading, shares of Auto, FMCG, Metal, Real Estate, Media, Energy and Oil & Gas sectors closed with gains, while shares of Banking, IT, Healthcare, Consumer Durables sectors closed with decline. In today’s session, midcap and smallcap stocks regained momentum and the midcap index crossed the 50 thousand mark with a jump of 361 points and closed at 50036 points. Whereas the smallcap index closed with a gain of 94 points.
