Mansa News: Surinderpal Singh Parmar, IPS. Additional Director General of Police, Bathinda Range, Bathinda informed that the Punjab Government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards drugs to make Punjab drug free. In view of which Gaurav Yadav, I.P.S. Punjab’s Director General of Police has ordered a special cordon and search operation against drug peddlers.

Under which IPS Sanjeev Kumar, DIG in the district. STF Mohali, Dr. Under the supervision of Nanak Singh, IPS Senior Captain Police Mansa, drug affected suspected places of district Mansa were effectively searched from 8 am to 1 pm. During this search operation, 335 police personnel including Mansa Police, Commando Police and STF teams including 7 DSPs, 9 Head Officers were involved.

During this special search operation, 18 cases under NDPS Act were registered and 21 persons were arrested and 4 kg 500 gm poppy seeds, 144 gm heroin (white), 50 gm opium, 1 kg ganja, 2230 intoxicant pills, 2600 signature capsules were recovered. A case under the Excise Act was registered and 25 liters of illicit liquor was recovered. Investigation is being done by registering cases against the arrested people in different police stations. During this special search operation various medical shops of Thana City Budhlada were also checked effectively.

Doctor. Nanak Singh, IPS Mansa Senior Police Captain has already launched a special drive by conducting daily patrolling, blockade and search operations, keeping bad elements under control, cases being registered against drug peddlers and major seizures being made. He said that no mischievous and bad element will be allowed to raise its head. Law and order in the district will be maintained at all costs. Money collection campaign will be continued by Mansa police in the same way.

To make people aware about the negative effects of drugs, a meeting was org.zed by Dr. Nanak Singh SSP Sardulgarh police station area on behalf of Manas, in which the young generation was motivated to give up drugs and go for sports and studies, along with the police also working day and night to help the flood affected people shoulder to shoulder with the people.
