New Delhi: A virtual meeting of India Alliance was held today, in which Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was appointed the president of the alliance. Bihar Chief Minister and JDU national president Nitish Kumar has been made the coordinator of the alliance. Apart from this, seat distribution was also discussed in this meeting. Before proposing the post of coordinator, Nitish Kumar had said that he has no desire for any post.

In this meeting, RJD President Lalu Yadav, his son Tejashwi Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Delhi’s M.M. Many leaders including AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal were present.

Earlier, West Bengal’s M.M. Mamata Banerjee presented her name as the Prime Ministerial candidate. But he was not present in this meeting. In this way Arvind Kejriwal supported his proposal.

It is noteworthy that even in this virtual meeting, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav did not attend.

Regarding this meeting, observers say that even after so much time has passed, no decision has been taken regarding seat distribution in the India Group. The issue is likely to remain a puzzle for the alliance. Besides, small parties associated with this alliance are also demanding seat sharing. On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee is now flying in the sky. During his Delhi visit, he did not even formally meet Sonia Gandhi, senior leader of the alliance’s largest party Congress. When will this union reach Kashi? This cannot be said at this stage.
