LPG e-KYC Update: Now oil comp.es have started adopting a strict attitude regarding domestic gas connections. Every company has instructed its distributors to conduct e-KYC of every consumer. This has been done so that domestic and commercial consumers can be identified. Besides, the connections of those who have left the district will also be disconnected.
Those who have died, the connection will be given in the name of their heirs. Cylinder supply to consumers who do not complete e-KYC may be stopped. There are about 11 lakh consumers of Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas in Kanpur. At present the cylinder is available for Rs 818.
Subsidy of Rs 18 is reaching the accounts of common consumers and Rs 200 in the accounts of Ujjwala connection holders. Oil comp.es believe that due to lack of survey for a long time, many consumers were facing difficulty in getting subsidy. The names of many dead people also could not be removed from the list. The main objective of the comp.es is to remove fake consumers from the list. About 15 percent consumers may be affected by this.
Will update e-KYC by going door-to-door
Gas comp.es will deploy their personnel to update e-KYC of consumers at door-to-door. The Aadhaar card will verify whether the person in whose name the connection is located is at home or not. Then Aadhaar number, address and mobile number will be updated. If e-KYC is not done, the supply of cylinder will be stopped after the stipulated time.
Workers will also give information about gas safety
Sales Officer LPG Bhupendra Nautiyal said that along with e-KYC updation, gas employees will also give information about gas safety to the people. E-KYC will help in identifying the right consumers. People who are not getting subsidy due to some reason can also start it.
