Suspense continues regarding Amethi and Rae Bareli. Tomorrow is the last day for filing nominations in Amethi and Rae Bareli. The names of these two candidates have not been announced yet by Congress.
However, news is coming out that Rahul Gandhi has given his consent for Amethi. After which the stir has increased from Amethi to Delhi. It is believed that the party will announce Rahul Gandhi’s name for Amethi by the evening.
Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s MP representative and party’s national secretary Kishori Lal Sharma have reached Amethi for preparations for nomination. After which it is believed that Congress will announce the name of Rahul Gandhi by this evening.
On behalf of Kishori Lal Sharma, it has been said that only a member of the Gandhi family will contest elections from Amethi. All the preparations are for them. Not for any other person. Party workers want a member of the Gandhi family to contest elections from Amethi.
On the other hand, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the announcement will be made today. CEC has given all the responsibility to Mallikarjun Kharge. An official announcement will be made by this evening.
Jairam Ramesh said that we want Rahul Gandhi to contest from Amethi and Priyanka Gandhi from Rae Bareli, but they will have to campaign in the entire country. Both of them are our star campaigners but CEC, Congress org.zation and Congress workers want Rahul Gandhi to contest from Amethi and Priyanka Gandhi from Rae Bareli but this is their personal choice. They will have to take a decision.
