Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, the voting percentage has reduced in 12 seats of Rajasthan. A total of 57.87 votes were cast, which is about six percent less than the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Then there was redemption of 63.72%. On Saturday, the Election Commission will announce the final figures of voting percentage.
Political experts say that more important than the difference in total voting percentage is which party’s vote percentage has fallen. If BJP’s voting percentage drops, there will be a direct contest between Congress candidates on three to four seats. This may include seats like Dausa, Karauli-Dholpur and Sriganganagar.
However, what the decline in voting percentage means cannot be determined yet. In comparison to 2004, there was a loss of one percent votes in 2009 while UPA-2 gained. According to Dainik Bhaskar’s report, BJP is suffering losses as much as Congress is benefiting from the six percent decline in voting.
In such a situation, a decline in margins is certain on seats with large differences. Leaders have their own claims behind the decreasing voting percentage in Rajasthan. They are talking about each other’s voting percentage, but the basis of voting percentage may be different for each seat.
Hot seats of first phase in Rajasthan:
Nagaur Lok Sabha seat: 57.01 percent votes were cast here, which is about 5 percent less than the 2019 elections. Khinwasar saw lower turnout compared to Nagaur and Makrana, from where RLP and India Alliance candidate Hanuman Beniwal is also the MLA.
Dausa Lok Sabha seat: Voting here has decreased by six percent. Dausa candidate Murari Lal Meena is Congress MLA from Dausa. There was 60.57 percent voting in Bassi, which is more than 59.68 percent in Dausa.
Sikar Lok Sabha seat: Here CPI (M) and Congress formed an alliance and fielded Amra Ram. Total voting took place in Sikar was 57.28 percent, which is 7.50 percent less than the last election. Highest turnout was witnessed in Kamrej, affected areas Dantaramgarh and Dhod.
Churu Lok Sabha seat: 62.98 percent votes were polled in Churu, which is 2.68 percent less than the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. There was 64.70 percent voting in Sadulpur and 68.52 percent voting in Taranagar. There is believed to be a clash between Rajendra Rathore and Rahul Kaswan in Taranagar.
