New Delhi, May 7 (Hindustan Reporter) The Indian senior women’s team will play two friendly matches against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on May 31 and June 4 during the upcoming FIFA Women’s International match window.

Head coach Langam Chaoba Devi on Monday, May 6, 2024, announced the probable list of 30 players who will join the national team camp starting from May 16 in Hyderabad.

The two-week training camp will be held at the Deccan Arena of Srinidhi Deccan FC in Hyderabad. The Indian team will leave for Uzbekistan on 29 May.

India last participated during the Turkish Women’s Cup in February, where they finished runners-up to Kosovo in Alanya. India last faced Uzbekistan in the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifier Round 2 in November 2023, also held in Tashkent. On that occasion the host team won 3–0. India is currently ranked 66th in the FIFA world rankings, while Uzbekistan is ranked 48th.

“This is the second international tour during the FIFA match window for the senior women’s team this year, having previously finished as runners-up in Turkey,” AIFF acting general secretary M Satyanarayana said. They will face Uzbekistan, who are much above them, and these two matches will be a good learning opportunity for the team.”

Goalkeepers: Anshika, Maibam Linthoingambi Devi, Moirangthem Monalisha Devi, Nandini, Payal Ramesh Basude, Shreya Hooda.

Defenders: Aruna Bag, Astam Oraon, Hemam Shilki Devi, Julie Kishan, Loitongbam Ashalata Devi, Sanju, Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu, Thonaojam Kritina Devi, Wangkhem Linthoingambi Devi.

Midfielders: Anju Tamang, Karthika Angamuthu, Naorem Priyangka Devi, Pavitra Murugesan, Sangeeta Basfour

Forward: Jyoti, Kajol Hubert D’Souza, Karishma Purushottam Shirvoikar, Kavya Pakkirisamy, Linda Kom Serto, M.sha, Neha, Pyari Xaxa, Sandhya Ranganathan, Soumya Guguloth.
