Korba, 27th April (Hindustan Reporter). Under the guidance of Collector and District Election Officer Ajit Vasant and the direction of Additional Collector Dinesh Nag, today (Saturday) a team of polling officers formed for home voting of disabled voters and voters above 85 years of age in the district left for the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. During this, Assistant Commissioner Shrikant Kaser, SDM Korba Shrikant Verma, Deputy Collector Gautam Singh, DPSO Mohan Kanwar etc. were present.

Additional Collector Shri Nag said that applications of a total of 127 voters have been received in Korba district under the absentee category who applied in Form 12 (d) for home voting. A total of 14 polling parties have been appointed to conduct the voting and 3 parties have been kept in reserve. He informed that the process of home voting in the district will be done on 27th and 28th April. Under this, home voting will be conducted by polling officers in Assembly Korba and Rampur on 27th April and home voting will be conducted for absentee category voters in Assembly Katghora and Pali Tanakhar on 28th April.

SDM Shri Verma explained the usefulness of various forms to all the polling officers present and gave complete information about the home voting process and asked them to conduct the voting efficiently. He said that polling teams will go to the homes of identified voters and conduct voting through postal ballot. The voter will be given complete information about the voting process by ensuring his identity through the voter’s identity card, EPIC card or other alternative document. The voter will vote by marking the candidate of his choice.

Home voting is starting in the district from today – Home voting work will be completed by 9 teams on 27 April 2024 in Assembly Korba and Rampur. In which 4 teams have been formed for Korba and 5 teams for Rampur. Each team will have one presiding officer, polling officer number 1, micro observer, policeman and videographer. Voting parties for Korba and Rampur constituencies were distributed from the district office this morning and sent for home voting.
