Gurugram, 4 May (Hindustan Reporter). Nine candidates filed their nomination papers on Saturday, the sixth day of the process of filing nomination papers for Gurgaon parliamentary constituency for the 18th General Lok Sabha elections.

Among those who filed nomination papers, M.ta Singh, wife of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rao Inderjit Singh, submitted four sets of her nomination as a covering candidate. Similarly, Ishwar Singh from People’s Party of India (Democratic), Akash Vyas from Bharatiya Shakti Chetna Party, independent candidates Balwan Singh and Akshat Gait, Vijay Kumar from Bahujan Samaj Party, Samay Singh from Bahujan Mukti Party, Sampooran Anand from Rashtriya Lok Swaraj Party. Covering candidate Rahul Thakran filed his nomination on behalf of Dharmendra Thakran, candidate from Swayam Shashan Party.

Meanwhile, Jannayak Janata Party candidate Rahul Yadav submitted the second set of nominations for himself and his covering candidate Rahul Yadav. The candidates who filed nominations completed all the procedures and also took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution in front of Gurgaon Lok Sabha Returning Officer and DC Nishant Kumar Yadav. DC said that extensive and concrete arrangements have been made by the district administration to conduct the Lok Sabha elections to be held peacefully on May 25. Fake and paid news is also being monitored by MCMC. The last date for filing nominations under the election process is 6th May till 3 pm. There will be a holiday on Sunday 5th May. Scrutiny of nominations of the candidates will be held on 7th May while the date for withdrawal of nominations is 9th May. Voting will take place on 25 May 2024 and counting of votes will take place on 4 June.
