Sriganganagar, April 29 (Hindustan Reporter) It has been made mandatory by the District Transport Office to install high security registration number plates on all types of vehicles registered before April 01, 2019. Its last date is 30th June. After June 30, a fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed for the first time if the vehicle does not have a high security registration number plate.

District Transport Officer Avadhesh Chaudhary said that if the investigating agencies again find the vehicle without high security number plate, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be charged. Apart from this, no work will be done in the District Transport Office on vehicles without high security registration number plate. Chaudhary said that the deadline for imposing high security on all types of vehicles is ending by June 30, 2024. Along with this, 29 February 2024 was fixed for such vehicles whose last digit of registration number is 1 or 2.

He told that the last date for vehicles whose registration number has last digit 3 or 4 was 31st March. Apart from this, for such vehicles whose last digit of registration number is 5 or 6, 30th April 2024 has been fixed. For such vehicles whose last digit of registration number is 7 or 8, the time has been fixed till 31 May 2024. Along with this, it is mandatory for vehicles whose last digit of registration number is 9 or zero (0) to get number plates installed by June 30, 2024.

Application can be made online

According to the District Transport Officer, it is very easy to register for high security number plate on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) portal. Online registration will be done by giving information related to the vehicle in the relevant column. After this, on payment of prescribed fee, the date for installation of high security number plate will be given in the concerned agency. Vehicle registration number, engine number, and chassis number will have to be entered on the portal. Dealers will be able to book more dates to get plates installed. Booking will be confirmed after depositing the fees online.
