New Delhi, April 13 (HS). England’s star batsman Jason Roy on Friday revealed his decision to opt out of the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), saying that he took this decision keeping in mind his mentality and body.

Roy joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 2.8 crore. He withdrew from the competition in early March citing personal reasons. In his place, England and Lancashire batsman Phil Salt was included in the team.

Roy said, “I think missing this year’s IPL was a very big decision. KKR had a lot of faith in me by retaining me after my good performances last year, I felt like I was owed a huge amount. It was a huge decision, but I took this decision just because it was my daughter’s fifth birthday and I was also tired, I took this decision keeping my mentality and body first.”

The opening batsman further said that he is grateful to the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for understanding his problem. He further said that his relationship with the franchise has been great.

He said, “I have not played a lot of cricket, so the last few months have really taken it out of me and so I was very honest with KKR and we have a great relationship, so we were able to reach an agreement.” Were. I am very grateful to him for this.”
