Dehradun, 26 April (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Mahendra Bhatt welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on EVMs and said that the opposition should now find new excuses for defeat. Bhatt said in a statement issued on Friday that after the Supreme Court’s decision, there is a need to leave aside the debate on this electoral process and work on new steps that will take the country forward. The Supreme Court’s decision on EVMs is the final nail on the intentions of booth looters.
Taking a jibe at the state Congress leaders, he said that BJP is going to win all five seats and Congress is going to find new excuses for defeat. All the opposition, including the Congress, have been expressing their anger over their defeat by pointing fingers at EVMs. The court’s decision regarding elections using EVMs and counting of VVPATs is the truth and should now be accepted. Now the time has come that new reforms should be brought in the election process by removing all the doubts, so that it becomes easier for the voters to vote and the country moves towards 100 percent voting.
