Hyderabad : After the defeat in the recent Telangana Assembly elections, there is a growing demand from the leaders and workers of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to change the name of the party to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). According to party sources, many party workers are supporting BRS working president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), son of KT. He has been criticized.

Giving his suggestion to Rama Rao, he said, by removing Telangana from the party’s name, it has obviously lost touch with the people. To prepare for the Lok Sabha elections, senior BRS leaders along with Rama Rao have been holding constituency-wise meetings since January 3. A senior BRS leader said that in every meeting many leaders and workers are demanding from the senior leadership to change the name of the party to TRS.

He believes that by removing Telangana from the name of the party, people’s connection with Telangana has reduced. Another leader said that although he is against changing the name, he cannot give his opinion. Because KCR is willing to take tough decisions.

The strategy failed in the assembly elections

The leader said that changing the name of TRS was one of the top five reasons responsible for the party’s defeat in the assembly elections. KCR changes name of TRS to BRS in 2022 to expand the party outside Telangana. But his strategy failed due to defeat in the assembly elections and the matter will become clear in a few months. In the assembly elections, the KCR led party could win only 39 out of 119 seats.
