Bhopal, 9 May (HS). Police raided the house of businessman Kailash Khatri late on Thursday night in Panth Nagar, Ashoka Garden, Bhopal, capital of Bhopal. More than Rs 30 lakh cash was recovered during the operation. According to the police, Kailash is associated with hawala business. On his information, three other people have been detained for questioning.

Kailash Khatri, resident of Panth Nagar, has been doing money exchange work since 2006. They also do the work of exchanging mutilated bank notes. Till the year 2020, he got the notes exchanged from Punjab National Bank. After this, when Punjab National Bank stopped changing the notes, he kept the new and old notes in the diwan in his house and then he started going to Delhi and Mumbai to get the notes changed. When the police got information about this from an informer, they raided his house on Thursday night. Mutilated notes ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 500 have been recovered from Kailash Khatri. Along with this, new notes have also been found. According to the police, the notes are currently being counted.
