This time the sword of retrenchment has fallen on Google’s core team and 200 employees have become its victims. According to the report, this layoff has been done just before Google Q1 Results.

Google made major layoffs among its core team on April 25, just before reporting explosive first-quarter earnings. According to a CNBC report, under this the company has shown the way out to at least 200 employees. Apart from this, it has been said that Google is considering transferring some of its appointments to India and Mexico. This new layoff at Google follows the recent removal of employees from the Flutter, Dart, and Python teams.

According to the report, the layoff was announced by Google Developer Ecosystem Vice President Asim Hussain and last week he informed his employees working in the core team by sending an email in this regard. Apart from this, he also talked about layoffs and changes in a town hall. Hussain had said that this is the biggest planned cut for his team this year.
What does Google’s core team do?
According to Google’s website, the ‘core’ team forms the technical foundation behind the company’s major products. The team is responsible for the underlying design, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. In this report released regarding the latest layoffs, it has been claimed that out of the removed posts, at least 50 posts belong to the engineering section working in the company’s offices in Sunnyvale, California.

According to the report, Google has fired its entire Python team citing cost cutting.
