A reliable source close to the actress tells us that Ankita was offered Student of the Year 3, which will be a web series, but she turned down the opportunity to be a part of Karan Johar’s project for reasons known only to her. Is. “Yes, Ankita was approached for Student of the Year 3. I’m not sure about the role that was offered to her, but she was definitely asked if she could be a part of the SOTY franchise. However, she has declined the offer and no one knows the reason behind her decision,” the insider told us.
The first Student of the Year film was released in 2012 and launched three new actors in the industry – Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. The second film in the franchise was released in 2019 starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles.
But this time Student of the Year 3 will not be a film but a web series. In April this year, Karan Johar confirmed the same during the Cinevistar International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh, when he also mentioned that the upcoming web series will be directed by Nocturnal Burgers fame Reema Maya. “The digital version of Student of the Year will be directed by Reema Maya. But that would be her way and definitely not mine because if I enter Reema Maya’s world, I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be his voice. They made it their own series,” he said.
Several reports have also claimed that KJO is planning to cast Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in Student of the Year 3. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this yet.
Meanwhile, Ankita Lokhande was recently seen in the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar, also starring Randeep Hooda in the lead role.
