Bhopal, 29 April (HS). There is a good news for the youth interested in journalism, mass communication, media, management, computers, cinema, advertising and public relations. The admission process has started in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University (MCU). University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. KG Suresh said on Monday that admission will be done on the basis of online interview and prepared merit list of marks obtained in various departments of Makhanapuram, the new campus of the university located in Bishankhedi and in Rewa, Khandwa, Datia campus.

He said that the university has joined CUET-UG for the first time for undergraduate courses. The university has a lush green residential campus of fifty acres, where students can take admission by filling the form through MP online. He said that the university is starting two new courses from this session. To attract students towards research and develop their understanding, the course of B.Sc.: Media Research and BA: Hindi Language, Technology and Translation will be conducted under the Indian Language Department in accordance with the National Education Policy. Along with this, the university had started the BA: English Journalism course in self-finance mode last year, in which a lot of interest is being seen from the students and their attraction and enthusiasm towards this course has increased. Any youth who is interested in the fields of media, mass communication, computer, cinema etc. and has the desire to do something special and move forward can apply online till 31st May.

MCU’s Admission Director Shalabh Srivastava said that in the graduation course, 70 percent weightage will be given to the marks obtained in 12th and 30 percent weightage will be given to the interview. Similarly, in postgraduate courses also, 70 percent weightage will be given to graduation marks and 30 percent weightage will be given to interview. Students with prescribed qualification in graduation examination can apply for postgraduate courses in Bhopal campus including Journalism, Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Journalism, Electronic Media, Media Research, Film Production, New Media, Media Business Management, MCA, M.Lis. Can. Whereas in BBA e-Commerce, B.Sc. Graphics .mation, B.Tech. Printing and Packaging, B.Lis. Library and Information Science, students with prescribed qualification in 12th examination can also fill the form.
