Bank account is important for everyone. Bank accounts are helpful for various expenses and receipts like availing government services, grants reaching our hands, digital money transactions, check withdrawals. Nowadays the world has become digital and now money transactions also happen online. Bank accounts are at the root of all this. What can we do if these bank accounts are frozen? Wouldn’t we be shocked if the account suddenly gets frozen? Similarly, a news has come out which has surprised some customers.

Banks will remain closed:

Public sector Punjab National Bank ( pnb ) This is news for account holders. PNB Bank has warned that even if there is no transaction in the accounts of the account holders of this bank, those accounts will be frozen. Not only this, the bank has warned its customers that even if there is no minimum balance in the bank account, those accounts will be closed within 1 month. The bank said that this action is being taken to prevent misuse of unused accounts. There is also news that these three years will be counted till April 30.

The bank also announced that accounts of customers below 25 years of age, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhim Yojana accounts, demat linked bank accounts and accounts with active lockers will not be opened for DBT. The bank said that apart from these accounts, accounts closed by government departments including Income Tax Department and courts will not be covered under it. Customers with this type of account are said to be able to make payments through UPI ID, QR code, etc.

What are the reasons for closure of bank accounts?

> non -Exchange : In case of non-withdrawal or non-payment of money from the bank account, the account will be frozen. If the account is inactive for three to five years then such action will be taken.

>0 balance or negative balance: All banks have a specified balance. Even if we total the balance, if it becomes negative, our account will be frozen.

> Fraudulent Activity: If fraudulent activity is detected in your bank account, the account will be frozen immediately.
