Actually obesity is not a serious disease which affects only Indians who are fond of eating and drinking, but today it has become a big problem for the whole world. One in four adults and one in five children in the UK are obese. In India, more than five percent of the total population is obese, and when it comes to medical science, this rate is equal to the number of patients suffering from an epidemic.
signs of obesity
According to health scientists and experts, to identify obesity, a person’s body weight has to be divided by the square of his height and the number obtained is called BMI i.e. ‘Body Mass Index’. It is only from this BMI that a person can be identified as being obese or not. For example, if a person weighs 72.57 kg and is 1.78 m tall, dividing the weight by the square of the height gives a BMI of 22.90. According to experts, a score between 18.5 to 24.9 means that the person is at a healthy weight, but if the score falls between 25 to 29.9, it means that the person is slightly overweight. Obesity is declared when this number is 30 to 39. It goes up to 9 and a score above 40 means obesity has crossed its dangerous threshold. It is also believed that a waist circumference greater than 94 cm or 37 inches in men and greater than 80 cm or 31.5 inches in women is a sign of obesity and obesity-related diseases.
the reason

Drinking alcohol, doing physical exercise, walking or reducing movement etc. are the main reasons for this.

Some people have also experienced obesity as a side effect after quitting smoking. Health experts consider obesity to be the root cause of many diseases.
