New Delhi, May 10 (Hindustan Reporter) Tata Group-led Air India Express has canceled around 75 flights on Friday due to shortage of cabin crew members. After the strike was called off late Thursday night, crew members have started returning to work but flights are still being canceled due to shortage of staff. The airline expects operations to return to normal by Sunday.

The crew members who went on strike are returning to work. With this, the airline’s operations are slowly getting back on track. The airline is helping them get the fitness certificate, which is required to return to work. A section of crew members were on strike in protest against alleged mismanagement at Air India Express. The airline management also ended the dismissal of 25 crew members after the strike was called off late at night.

Official sources said on Friday that Air India Express has canceled about 75 flights due to shortage of cabin crew members. Around 45-50 flights are expected to be canceled on Saturday also. Due to cancellation of Air India Express flights and compensation to passengers, the company is estimated to suffer a revenue loss of around Rs 30 crore.
