Mumbai, 26 April (HS). For the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, 53.51 percent voting was recorded in eight parliamentary constituencies on Friday. Highest voting was recorded at Wardha parliamentary seat at 56.66 percent and lowest voting was recorded at Hingoli parliamentary seat at 52.03 percent. 1 crore 49 lakh 25 thousand 912 voters at 16,589 polling stations in eight seats of the state have sealed the future of 204 candidates in EVMs till Friday evening.

State Election Commission spokesperson said that for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, 53.51 percent voting has been recorded in eight seats of Maharashtra from 7 am to 5 pm on Friday. These include 56.66 percent in Wardha parliamentary seat, 52.49 percent in Akola parliamentary seat, 54.50 percent in Amravati parliamentary seat, 52.24 percent in Buldana parliamentary seat, 52.03 percent in Hingoli parliamentary seat, 52.47 percent in Nanded parliamentary seat, 53.79 percent in Parbh. parliamentary seat and Yavatmal. -54.04 percent voting has been recorded in Washim parliamentary seat.

Many incidents of EVM malfunction were seen in Maharashtra in the second phase of voting. Incidents of EVM malfunction occurred in Amravati, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbh.. An EVM machine was found faulty in Rukmini Nagar School, Municipal School No. 19 in Amravati. Due to this the voting process was disrupted for half an hour. Voting could begin after the EVMs were repaired. There were complaints of EVM machines malfunctioning at a total of 39 polling stations in Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency, on which the machines were replaced.

Due to EVM malfunction in Takli, Nanded, the voting process was disrupted for about one and a half hours. EVMs at 172 polling stations of Mahatma Phule College in Parbh. city were closed since morning, after their repair the voting process was started. Similarly, at Ramtirtha polling station in Nanded, a youth broke the EVM with an axe, that youth has been arrested.
