A Zepto rider dies after a speeding Swift Dzire crashes into his bike on LBS Road, Ghatkopar; driver arrested | Representational Image
Mumbai: A speeding Swift Dzire car collided with a bike rider on Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Road in Ghatkopar West on Saturday night, resulting in the death of the rider. The deceased has been identified as Prince Chaudhary, while the Ghatkopar Police have arrested the car driver and launched a thorough investigation.
According to police sources, Prince Chaudhary lived in Bhatwadi, Ghatkopar West, with his brother Bhav Premprakash Chaudhary and friend Hemant Sahu. He worked as a rider for Zepto, a delivery company. Sahu had purchased an Activa scooter for the delivery business, which Prince regularly used for his work.
On Saturday evening, Prince left for work as usual. Around 2:30 AM, he was riding towards Sarvodaya Junction when a speeding Swift Dzire car, heading towards Kurla, rammed into him. The impact was so severe that Prince suffered critical injuries. Locals immediately alerted the police and rushed him to Rajawadi Hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead.
Following the incident, the police registered a case based on Hemant Sahu’s complaint. The Swift Dzire driver, identified as Siddharth Banpatte (22), was arrested. The Ghatkopar Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
