Zahan Kapoor, the grandson of the late legendary actor Shashi Kapoor, has been winning hearts with his powerful portrayal of jailer Sunil Kumar Gupta in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Netflix series Black Warrant. The show is based on the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by journalist Sunetra Choudhury and former Tihar Jail superintendent Sunil Gupta.

Zahan, who is also the cousin of actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, revealed that he wasn’t aware of Ranbir until he was launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Saawariya. “I will tell you a funny story. I am so embarrassed about it. I did not really have an idea about Ranbir Kapoor before he was actually launched. Of course, I knew Chintu uncle. But, we were so separate. I was living in my world as a young kid. It was around the time when he made his splash with Saawariya as a young adult in 2007. I was still in school,” he told Bollywood Hungama.

The actor continued that he was very distant from Kareena and Ranbir and had more memories of spending time with Shammi Kapoor’s grandchildren, as they lived closer to each other.
