YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani being questioned by Navi Mumbai Cyber Cell over objectionable remarks in the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show | X

Mumbai: Popular YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Navi Mumbai Cyber Cell on Monday for questioning in connection with alleged objectionable remarks made during the India’s Got Latent show. Their statements were recorded as part of an ongoing investigation. Both are interrogated from 11.30 AM to 5.00 PM.

The Maharashtra Cyber Police had previously summoned Ranveer Allahbadia for questioning on February 24, but he had not appeared at the time. The controversy stems from remarks made by Allahbadia regarding parents and sexual relationships, which sparked public outrage.

On February 11, Ashish Chanchlani had also given his statement to the Khar Police in relation to the case. The Maharashtra Cyber Police have registered an FIR against multiple YouTubers and social media influencers involved in India’s Got Latent, an event organized by comedian Samay Raina. Over 30 individuals associated with the show have been booked so far. Additionally, authorities have requested YouTube to remove all related content.

Meanwhile, Samay Raina, the event’s organizer, is reportedly outside India. The police have contacted him regarding the investigation, as he holds the uncut footage of the show, which officials plan to seize upon his return. Reports indicate that the show was filmed on November 14, and the probe is on.
