Amid the ongoing India’s Got Latent controversy, YouTuber Shwetabh Gangwar revealed that he spoke to his ‘friend’, comedian Samay Raina, recently, and realised that he was “broken and depressed”. He also mentioned that Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani were going through tough times.

In his recent video, Shwetabh revealed that he got on a phone call with Samay, and he sounded extremely low. “Bhaisahab, toota hua hai vo insaan. When the controversy had erupted, I could still see the old Samay in him, but when I spoke to him the last time, I saw a broken man…depressed, sad, scared,” he said.

He went on to say that he took a break from social media too as he felt helpless that he could not be of any use to his friend. “I was drained emotionally, I couldn’t see my friend like that,” Shwetabh stated.

Samay has been in Canada for his live shows ever since the India’s Got Latent controversy erupted, and he has sought time till March 17 from the authorities to return to India and record his official statement.

In the meantime, he has deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you (sic),” he wrote in his sole statement on the controversy.

During one of his shows in Canada, Samay even joked about the situation and thanked the audience for “paying the lawyer’s fees”.
