YouTuber Elvish Yadav has been booked by the Jaipur police for posting an allegedly misleading video of Jaipur police escorting his car during his recent visit to Jaipur.
Dismissing the claims made by Yadav, the Jaipur police said that no official security was provided to the YouTuber and the case has been registered for trying to damage the reputation of the Rajasthan Police.
The police commissioner Biju George Joseph said, “No escort was provided to Yadav recently by the Jaipur police. It must be some old videos that he had morphed and uploaded on social media aiming to spoil the image of the city police. We have lodged a case against him on Tuesday at the Jaipur cyber police station.” Yadav was in Jaipur on February 8 for a music video shoot at Sambhar.
The video was posted on social media a couple of days ago in which a Jaipur Police Emergency Response vehicle was seen escorting his car when he was heading towards Sambhar along with the son of former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyavas, Krishnvardhan. The video also showed that Elvish Yadav’s vehicle was not tolled at Bagru toll plaza as police vehicle was escorting him.
Former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has, however, distanced himself and his son from the controversy, saying that neither of them had requested for a police escort.
“Elvish Yadav has often visited me and as a politician, I meet many people. My government is not in power, so I do not know who arranged for a police vehicle or why it was there,” he said.
