Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Tension still prevails at Gondarmau where a 22-year-old youth identified as Adnan Khan was stabbed to death by three persons of the same locality late Monday night. Body of Adnan was buried amidst heavy security arrangements at a nearby graveyard on Tuesday evening.

Police force has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure and multiple police teams have been formed to trace and nab the culprits, police officials said. Gondarmau area resident Jalal Khan’s son Adnan Khan (22) was an automobile mechanic. His cousin informed that he and Adnan have gone to offer ‘namaaz’ (special Ramzan prayers).

After the prayers were over, Adnan was sitting at a tea stall close to his home at around 10:30 pm when Raj Solanki, Shubham Solanki and Lucky called him on pretext of talking on some issue. Two of them caught the hands of Adnan while he was stabbed in the stomach by one of them.

Locals rushed to the spot and took Adnan to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Tension prevailed in the area following the incident. Adnan’s kin and locals surrounded the police station demanding immediate action against the accused. Locals informed that Adnan was second among four siblings.

Adnan was second among three brothers while their sister is married. Primary questioning by police indicates rivalry between the victim and the assailants over a girl. However, Adnan’s kin ruled out Adnan’s relationship with any girl and claimed that he was going to get married to a girl selected by his parents.

Locals informed that one of the accused Lucky Solanki is an auto driver while Shubham is a property dealer. All three accused are relatives and live in the same area.

There was some tension between Adnan and them but was not as serious which may result in murder, the locals added. ACP Richa Jain said that efforts were underway to arrest the three accused. The motive behind the murder could be ascertained only after their arrest, she added.
