Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Mystery shrouds the death of a youth whose body was found in a car at Tindani trisection near Chourasia petrol pump under the Nowgong police station on Tuesday. The police rushed to the spot after the body was discovered and began to probe the case.
The police questioned four of them Bhupendra Singh Bundela, Nitesh Shukla and Om Prakash Raikwar and Manish Jatav, who were found in the car. Three of them were found sleeping inside the vehicle, and Manish was lying dead. On getting information, the family members of Manish rushed to the spot and alleged that he had been liquidated.
The youths, found with Manish, said they had called him at 11pm on Monday, seeking his car, to go to Bhimkund. All of them set out from Nowgong at 12:30am. They consumed liquor near a Dhaba in Chhatarpur city. Manish suddenly fell ill. As Manish’s condition was deteriorating, they began to return to Nowgong. When they came to Mausahniya, the fuel tank of the vehicle emptied.
They went to Chaurasia Petrol Pump with the help of another vehicle, but fuel was not available there. When they woke up in the morning, they found policemen standing before them, the youths said. As the body of Manish bore some injury marks, his family members suspected that he had been murdered. The family members of Manish put his body on the road and blocked traffic.
Senior police and administrative officers, including sub-divisional magistrate Kajal Singh sub-divisional officer of police Chanchlesh Markam rushed to the spot. Nagar Palika chairperson Anup Tiwari also reached the spot and assured the family members of taking action and pacified the angry kin of Manish who, then, lifted the road blockade.
A resident of Gauna Karaula, Bundela, found in the car along with Manish, has a criminal background. Inside the car, an iron rod and some other items were found. Nevertheless, the police said they would be able to say anything after an inquiry.
